Un maître de jeu pioche une carte, en lit les instructions, et appuie sur le retardateur, laissant donc dix secondes aux joueurs pour se mettre en position. Après une dizaine de cartes, et de photos, tout le monde se rassemble autour de l’appareil, ou mieux autour d’un ordinateur, et on compte les points, photo après photo. Une carte peut ainsi donner un point à tous les joueurs qui sont en l’air, à ceux dont juste la tête sort du cadre, à ceux dont on ne voit que les pieds, à celui qui lève la jambe le plus haut ou qui a la tête au centre du cadre. Une série de cartes très astucieuses divisent les joueurs en deux groupes et attribuent des points au groupe le moins nombreux, ceux qui sont assis ou debout, ceux qui font l’élan ou le taureau, ceux qui sont de face ou de dos. Photo Party renouvelle très astucieusement le genre du jeu idiot pour joueurs nombreux.

The game master draws card and reads its instructions aloud, then hits the button to start the timer. After a dozen cards, and a dozen pictures, all players gather around the camera, or around a computer screen, to watch the pictures and settle the scores. Here are a few cards example : 1 point if you are in the air, not touching the ground; 1 point if you are on the picture, but your head is cut by the frame; 1 point if just your legs and feet can be seen; 1 point if you lift your leg the highest. I especially like the cards who give one point to each player in the minority group, sitting or standing, face or back to the camera, making the goose or bull with their hands, etc. Stupid Party games are often fun, but rarely new. Photo Party is really original, and great fun.
