rempart.
R: 3.

Q: The wording "adjacent
spaces" in some card texts (minstrel, priest, spy) is ambiguous.
Does it mean spaces adjacent to the character (minstrel, priest
or spy) or spaces adjacent to eachother.
A: It always means spaces adjacent to the character.
Q: Does the Traitor always
send back a card from the courtyard, or only if the Traitor
is placed as the last soldier on a rampart?
A: The traitor always sends back a card from
the courtyard.
Q: Ambassador: The Ambassador
is to be placed "On the last free space" of the courtyard. There
are two possible means of the word "last" in this context.
The Ambassador must be the 16th card played in the courtyard
- it cannot be played unless there is only one free space (last
space) remaining in the courtyard...
or
The Ambassador may be played when a card in the courtyard is
sent back - this creates a most recently vacated space (last
space) in the courtyard.
A: the first meaning is the right one.
Q: Fool & Village
Idiot: "All players simultaneously pass a card of their choice
to the player on the left/right." Should these read "...player
on their left/right", meaning that each player passes to their
left/righthand neighbor? Or do all players give a card to the
player to the left/right of the player who played the fool?
A: the first answer is the good one: to the
player on their right hand.
Q: A soldier is protected
by a Knight. When the fourth Siege Engine is played, is the
Knight sent back?
A: No. The rule says that the fourth Siege
Engine sends back all soldiers on the ramparts. This include
the cards Soldiers, Captain and Traitor, but not the Knights,
who are not considered soldiers. In this case, the Knight and
the protected Soldier both stay on the rampart.
Q: Can you play the Mistress
if the Queen has been brought outside the walls by the fairy?
A: The wording of the Mistress card is slightly
different in french and in english. The english text says "cannot
be played if the Queen is in play", while the french was "cannot
be played if the Queen is in the courtyard". In game terms,
it makes little difference, and you can play it the way you
wish. However, my idea was that the Queen doesn't want to see
the King's Mistress, and if she is lost in the bogs outside
the walls, lured by the fairy, she doesn't care any more what
the King and his Mistress are doing in the court.
Q: A Knight is lured outside
the walls by the Fairy. Is he placed on another card outside
the walls?
A: No. The basic placement rules do not work
for cards lured by the fairy. The Knight is placed alone and
doesn't protect any other card.
Q: The Fairy moves a card
from inside the Castle to Outside the Castle. Does "from inside
the Castle" mean from the courtyard, or are the Ramparts and
Tower considered to be to be "inside" as well?
Q: Inside the Castle means Courtyard, Ramparts
and Towers.
Q: What is the optimum
number of players?
A: 3.
